Kenya Keaton-Simpkins is currently a Case Worker for SSVF and HRVP serving Gaston, Lincoln, and Cleveland counties with Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM). Kenya has over 10 years’ experience as a case worker and over 5 years’ experience working with the Veteran population. Kenya was born and raised in Wilmington, NC and attended Shaw University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Before college and all through college, Kenya volunteered with women and children and within the school system. Through volunteer work, she knew she wanted to become a social worker to continue helping women and their families to become self-sufficient.
