Jennifer Guevara

Jennifer Guevara is a dedicated and experienced clinical social worker and addiction specialist who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves. Her focus is particularly on individuals impacted by addiction, mental health challenges, trauma, and disabilities.

Her journey in the helping profession began in 2003 with a diverse background in case management and medical records. She served as a contractor for the Department of Defense, working at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, and its affiliated clinics. This experience led her to further her education in 2015. During her clinical education and internships, Jennifer gained experience in multiple fields, including gerontology, behavioral health (both inpatient and outpatient), and emergency medical services.

Throughout her career, Jennifer has remained committed to positively impacting the lives of individuals facing various challenges. With a strong foundation in clinical service settings, she has worked across different domains, including acute inpatient behavioral health, facility crisis intervention, outpatient services, and community support team services, specializing in mental health and addiction. Her work has exposed her to a wide range of populations, including military service members and their families, as well as individuals ranging from 5 years old to those in their 90s.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor and Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In addition to her professional work, she has dedicated her time to volunteer efforts, serving as a Guardian ad Litem since 2017 and currently holding the position of NASW-NC Board of Directors' South Central District Representative.
