Fran Harvey
SSVF Housing Case Manager
Fran Harvey currently serves as an SSVF Case Manager with Veterans Services of the Carolinas in the Wilkes County area. She lives in Wilkesboro with her husband and best friend, loves to ride motorcycles, and dig in her flower gardens (especially irises). ‘Dirt under the fingernails is therapeutic’ she says.
Fran taught kindergarten the first three years of her professional career before transitioning to the nonprofit sector. She has held roles in the fields of homelessness, mental illness, addictions and poverty, and has been involved with extensive outreach to the homeless population who struggle with mental illness/substance abuse. Just before joining the team at VSC she led a community initiative that addressed poverty from the holistic lens, focusing on whole person wellness in a supportive environment. Involved with several community partnerships, she currently serves on the board of the CHBMS homeless shelter and is a member of COPE/Community Opioid Prevention & Education team to name a few.
Many in her family served in the military and she was raised in an environment where military service was of the highest regard. She counts it a privilege to serve as a Case Manager for the Veterans in her community.
